Interview with Tonya Kinser!
Who wants to be Spanked?
Bonni, thank you for having me here this week and I have contests at the end for your readers to get in on. I love what you’ve done with your site. Ttssssss! We love HOT! Right, readers? You’re in the right place if you’re looking for trouble and something hot. Bonni has it all here…dayuum!
I think Bonni might have a Master hanging around here somewhere with a nice leather crop and he’s chomping at the bit to see all of us bent over holding our ankles! *peeking behind the door, then the curtain* I know I’m not alone in my fantasies…all of you have thought about what that would be like. Now, perhaps my imagination is a bit more risqué than some but I like to create a visual for the reader so they get just as heated up reading as I do writing. I’ll apologize now for the mess on your screen or keyboard! Grab your towel before you read!
Most readers, male or female, secretly fantasize about being tied up during sex whether they want to admit it or not. It’s just human nature to think naughty! That’s not a bad thing unless you start doing it in your front yard for the neighbors to see and I’m too shy for that…besides, I don’t have any neighbors that I’d like to show that to, yet! *wicked laugh* Way back in the dark corners of your mind is that secret little box that opens when we read forbidden shit that makes us want to be a character in a book who’s doing what we’d love to be doing but are too shy.
What I really hope is that by reading my books, my readers can open the conversation with their partners about what they want in their sex lives. Maybe both are already thinking it but are afraid to ask. That only leads to frustration so start the conversation with your partner and maybe start with a blindfold! I have links on my site to help you begin the conversation. Of course a few videos help, too! *wink*
Now, maybe YOU’VE already been spanked! Next time your partner spanks you, stop and feel just how erotic that was for you…cause your panties will be WET, I guarantee it! Admit it or not…it excites you when he bends you over his knee as you struggle or makes you bend over the arm of the overstuffed chair as he holds your wrists in his hand, out of the way of his hand or crop and he slowly pulls those panties down to bare your ass.

Bonni: Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Tonya: I’m a woman who enjoys writing that opens new doors of reading entertainment to individuals and partners who read together. I’m a wife, mother, sister, friend….the sweetheart next door! *wink* I’ve been writing for years but only recently decided to self publish. I’m pretty techie and find the formatting and uploading easy once you figure out how each site works because all of them are different. It takes patience and the ability to read directions. I’m self taught in most of what I know how to do and do my own covers, book trailers, promo items and websites.
Bonni: Bondage can get pretty intense but instead, you include soft bondage in your stories. Why do you keep it on the soft side, no pun intended!
Tonya: I’m not into a lot of pain like I see some people needing and maybe I’m losing a few readers who want harsher material. My readers will NOT find my characters being cut, whipped until they bleed, needle tortured, etc. That just isn’t me. Don’t whack my ass with a cane until I bleed! You’d probably have to sleep with one eye open! Revenge could easily be my middle name! I’m not into pain! It does get me going if I’m blindfolded and restrained but again, the trust factor has to be a strong one with whoever you allow to get that close to you while your hands are tied.
Bonni: What do you think is trending in your genre? Do you write for the market or more for yourself?
Tonya: I think erotica is becoming the new romance read for those readers who need more than just sexual tension in their stories. Most readers will say they’re romance readers but many can’t wait to privately open their Kindle or Nook, or head to their computers, to read our spicy erotica that makes their juices seep and creates an image in their mind of having wild sex with their partners. Those are the readers I write for! The reader who wants to experience the secret fantasy and get the nerve to ask for what they want!
I write for myself and write what I enjoy reading, for the most part, but I also write for the reader who says ‘I wish I had the guts to ask my partner to do that to me!’
Bonni: Sex scenes. Do they come easy for you? How do you approach them?
Tonya: Tension between the characters comes first in everything. I love making my characters crave the other and think about what they want to do. I enjoy sex scenes and they aren’t hard for me to write, but the characters have to satisfy each other for me or show me that later on they will both be satisfied. I also love to taunt the reader and love envisioning those wonderful one-handed readers out there! *wink* I write for you!
Bonni: How do you approach marketing/promo? Any tips?
Tonya: I love the marketing aspect of writing. Marketing is time-consuming but is a necessary part of the publishing business. As writers, we have to take responsibility for getting our name in front of readers, whether you’re self published or sign a contract. You must have an author website, a blog whether separate or part of your website, a FaceBook page, tweet on Twitter, comment on blogs and other FaceBook pages so readers can see your name and website link out there. It never ends but one has to make time for writing once the marketing starts. I can spend an entire day marketing and not write. Too many of those kinds of days and your writing will fall behind! I enjoy creating my covers and book marks, which leads me to another marketing tip - get your book marks or post cards to other authors who pass them out. My blog has an address to send your book marks to so they get distributed in my goodie bags and in front of readers!
Bonni: Any advice for newbies?
Tonya: Ask for reviews and interview/guest spots on blogs. Many authors are looking for guest authors and many also enjoy helping those new authors get a chance to be in front of readers. Get your website up, Facebook, Twitter, blog, and get your name out there by commenting and tweeting! (that will also get you into some of the online papers authors have out there) Find a good critique partner who will help read through for errors and give pointers. Read your work out loud. If it doesn’t read smooth for you, it won’t read smooth for your readers! Learn POV and strive to stay in it. Head hopping makes the reader dizzy and/or they’ll toss the book against the wall! I have a few articles on my website for new readers and enjoy helping where I can.
Bonni: Is writing a full time job for you?
Tonya: No, we do own a business, The Boss and I, and that keeps us busy! Luckily, being one of the bosses, and the IT person…along with MANY other hats I wear, I have my office computer loaded with all my writing goodies as well. Shhhh….you have to keep my secret - although The Boss does know that I write and market at work!
Bonni: What attracts you to a man?
Tonya: More than looks…it has to be his confidence, by far. He doesn’t have to look like Adonis, although that is a distraction, if he knows who he is and where he’s headed…and comfortable with that…he will look great! But all that aside, a man who rolls his long sleeves up to his forearms…mmm…just gets me, I’m not sure why but I love watching the muscles work in his forearm as he reads the paper or uses a hammer…it doesn’t matter!
This story is for those who love spanking stories as well as those who love to watch! We’ve all got a bit of voyeurism in us and this book will tug at those strings…or restraints, whichever the case may be. 5 Star Review of The Bank Job
Read from July 25 to 26, 2012
Bonni Samson has become an auto-buy author for me. After reading The Bank Job, I am just reminded why I like her writing so much.
Kat is a brash in your face kind of woman with strength to back it up. An attitude forged out of the need to protect herself and an honesty and straight forwardness that not many can handle. That is until she walks into the bank to deposit her check and meets Jarrod.
Jarrods not sure why he is instantly attracted to the girl with pink hair and piercings, but he is. Just as they realize that there is a connection to each other, the bank is robbed.
This book is filled with non stop action, humor and some smoking hot love scenes. I am usually not satisfied unless the hero and heroine get a happily ever after ending, but I was just as happy with the happy for now ending.
I can't wait to see what Ms. Samson comes up with next.

“Natalie Ann, I can’t keep my eyes off of you. Every day we’re here together and I fantasize about touching you. You must have suspected.” Shelly slid her hand from Natalie’s shoulder to her chest.
