Being a war-widow is hell on the sex life, as Ellie Mason knows all too well. And thanks to the last storm that blew through, her sex life isn't her only concern anymore. Rain and high winds damaged her barn. While placing an ad for a handyman, in walks Cord, the man of her dreams. He might just be the one to fire up her sex life, that is... if he'll take the job.Ellie and Cord's relationship is soon troubled by Ellie's menacing pet pig Bacon, who is set on destroying everything Cord owns. Then there's the hired hand Justin, who searches out the truth about Cord's past and uses it against him, and Ellie and Cord's new relationship spirals out of control. Will their budding love survive a missing condom, a crazy pig and a jealous man?
"Excuse me, ma'am," he said with a half-smile as he scooted past. He stood in front of the board, scanning the ads. His eyes landed on hers and her heart skipped a beat.

Ask for Ellie
He immediately pulled out his cell and started dialing. She darted out of the store before her phone could ring and give her away. Bacon followed suit and clung to Ellie's leg. She skidded to a stop by her truck. Her heart was pounding and her hands were shaking. She ducked behind the driver’s door, just before her phone started ringing.
"May I speak to Ellie?"
"This is Ellie."
"My name is Cord Dixon. I just found your help wanted ad and needed to know if the job is still available." He cleared his throat.
Ellie hid next to her truck, hoping he wouldn't come out of Ben's and see her. "Yes, the job is still open. Do you have experience with construction?" She checked her hair in the truck mirror.
"Yes ma'am, I used to work for a contractor out of Houston. I did a lot of housing projects. And I worked as a foreman for almost a year."
"Are you available right away?" She was almost positive he'd said something, but she wasn't sure what.
Bacon squealed and stood up on his hind legs. She brought her finger to her lips and shushed him, but he squealed again. He nuzzled her leg, impatient as ever and ready to go. She snapped her fingers for Bacon to follow her. Bacon stopped and sat with his snout in the air.
“Come on, Bacon,” she whispered and motioned with her hand. He didn’t budge, so she scooped him up and carried him inside.
She snuck inside and hid one aisle away from the man. She pushed bug spray cans aside, getting a nice view of his ass. She placed her hand over the receiver so he wouldn’t hear her. Everything was fine until she felt a presence behind her.
“Whatcha doin’ there, Ellie, girl?”
She jerked back quickly, banging her head on the shelf. “Uh, I was just checking out the bug spray. I have a problem with ants.”
Ben scratched his bushy chin and looked over at the aisle next to them. “Ants huh?”
“Yep.” She smiled up at him, but his brows drew together. Great he doesn’t believe me.
“Why don’tcha just go over there and talk to him? He looks mighty handsome.”
“All right, all right, I’m going.” She rounded the aisle and came up behind him.
"Hello? Are you there? Can you hear me?” He shook his phone and put it back to his ear.
She closed her phone and paused for a moment, but then managed a weak "Yes."
And he turned and saw her.
