Excerpt #2 The Bank Job

Hot damn, that quite possibly could have been one of the most intense orgasms of her life. He was truly gifted in the sex department. She had no doubt he would be an animal in bed. Just the right man to keep up with her. She felt his erection on her lower back, knowing she could do nothing more to help him with it here. They needed to concentrate on getting out of there. Thank you. I needed that.” She fastened her pants.
He kissed her on the shoulder. “You’re welcome. I just wish there could be more. If we get out of this there will be.” She relaxed against him, basking in the afterglow of the moment. She didn’t want to move ever again. Even though she would never admit it, it felt good to be in his arms. That thought scared her. She had to get it together this was no time to get soft. She pushed away from his embrace.
“What’s the matter?” He scrunched his brows together.
She could see the wounded look in his eyes. She felt bad about it, but there was no time to be sentimental. They sort of had sex, that was all. Nothing more, nothing less. “Nothing’s the matter, sport. I’m just trying to figure out what to do to get us out of here.”
He huffed out a breath. “So we’re back to sport, huh? Well that’s just great.” He threw his hands up in the air.
She could hear the hurt and frustration in his voice, but there was nothing she could do to soothe it. This is exactly why she didn’t do relationships. She had casual sex and that was it. She didn’t have a place in her life for complicated shit. “Don’t you want to get out of here?”
He sighed and stood up with her. “Well, what’s the plan?” He peeked out the blinds with her.
“I’m not sure yet, but I think we could take the short one. He seems about ready to piss his pants.
“Oh, that’s right, you were out when I heard his name. The little one is Kip. I still don’t know Snaggletooth’s name, but his teeth will give him away.”
Getting dark, the light filtering through the blinds on the only small window was fading away. Soon they would be in the dark. She figured when it got dark they could make their move. Getting the rest of the people out was going to be the tricky part though.
“Okay, I think we can take Kip. He seems like he wants out of this. The other two are the dangerous ones.”
“I don’t think so. If he gets scared enough, he’ll start shooting. He has the least amount of control.”
“And how would you know anything about control? You were helping them bag the money.” It was a low blow, she knew it, but she wanted out of here. She needed to get to work. If she lost this job, well, she didn’t want to think about losing her job. It might be a joke to some people, valuing a job as a sex toy sales clerk, but it was better than the alternative of being unemployed and dependant on other people.
“Yeah, I helped them, but I was afraid of being shot at the time, so forgive me if I’m not as brave and as frigid as you are.” He crossed his arms over his chest.
Ouch, that stung. It was true, she knew it was, but it still stung. She was definitely glad she wasn’t in a relationship with him. At least that’s what she told herself. “Look, let’s just concentrate on getting out of this room okay.” She stroked his arm lightly; he put his hand over hers and nodded.
“So what’s the plan?”
