Tantalyzing Tuesday Teaser #6

Welcome to Tanatlizing Tuesday, where we pick our own picture to write 200 words about. I hope you enjoy my 200 and be sure to check out all of the other teasers by following the links below.

The night was dark and the cave smelled dank from the rain. The storm raged on with the lightening snapping all around. You could feel the spark of electricity in the air, making your skin tingle. The crash of thunder one right after another sounded off in the background. But he didn’t seem to hear it. Uggy couldn’t seem to concentrate on anything but Lola.
Lola had gone to find food with a small party of hunters. She was a natural with the club, but he wished she hadn’t gone. She was probably out in the cold rain, squatting in the mud, when she should be in the cave pressed up against him.  He swore after tonight he would never let her go again. He held his knees to his chest and grabbed hold of his legs as he dropped his head. He couldn’t live without her. There wasn’t another woman in the whole clan that he could love.
A bright streak of lightening flashed and he saw her. They were working their way back to the cave. A bolt of lightning cracked through the sky, descending on the group. The last thing he saw was her on the ground.

  13. Bonni you have not lost your muse or your gift for words. This is beautiful and I would love to know more. Did he lose her? Can he save her? I can feel his pain of seeing the one he loves hurt. Great job.

  15. I love that picture. Just remarkable and the way you used the words around it. Whew. I think writing about loss is so personal and when you do it well the piece leaves you wanting more. Which I very much do.
